SideBySide errors are typically caused by the current Microsoft Visual C++ version not being backward compatible with the application that failed. The Event ID 33 error message is typically: Activation context generation failed for “program name”..Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. There are other similar SideBySide errors with the same problem of backward compatibility. If the software works OK then you don’t have to fix it but if it does not or you want to get rid of this error here are two Fixes:
1. You may want to install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 DLLs instead and see if the newer version will work (make the errors go away).
So maybe try to download and install the 2010 version here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84
If that doesn’t work, you can try to install the older 2008 DLLs from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=d5692ce4-adad-4000-abfe-64628a267ef0
FYI: here is the actual error- “Activation context generation failed for “C:\Windows\system32\conhost.exe”. Dependent Assembly Microsoft.Windows.SystemCompatible,processorArchitecture=”amd64″,publicKeyToken=”6595b64144ccf1df”,type=”win32″,version=”6.0.7600.16823″ could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.”
Please do let me know, if this helps anyone
